The Islington Sustainable Energy Partnership is a network for organisations in the borough who want to reduce energy costs, cut carbon emissions and manage their environmental impacts.
We promote sharing and learning between energy and sustainability professionals, provide advice, events and resources, help members get involved in local community projects and run a free certification scheme for members that recognises environmental achievement.
Our diverse membership of over 50 organisations spans the private, public and third sector in Islington. The Partnership is led by a Steering Committee of 10 member representatives and secretariat services are provided in-kind by Islington Council.
What we do
- We provide advice, training and practical support to help organisations to become more sustainable, with a focus on energy and carbon.
- Our ISEP Green Certification Scheme recognises the sustainability achievements through its Bronze, Silver or Gold level awards. Its a great way for organisations to demonstrate commitment to sustainability and to benchmark themselves against others. Apply to the certification scheme and join the ranks of Islington’s greenest businesses.
- We provide opportunities for members to engage and support their local Islington community and widen their positive impact through a variety of local projects from environmental volunteering to local carbon offsetting schemes and apprenticeship opportunities.
- ISEP members can also benefit from additional services including energy or EMS auditing, energy purchasing and energy management at an affordable rate via Islington Council’s Energy Services Team.
ISEP members commit to measure, monitor and reduce their environmental impact and we track our achievements through our Green Certification Scheme, and annual energy monitoring exercise. Since 2008 Partnership members have cut their carbon emissions by over 25,200 tCO2 and saved an estimated £4.3M in avoided energy costs.
