Our annual ISEP carbon monitoring exercise has now been completed and the Annual Report published, see link below.
This year, we had spent time developing a new carbon monitoring tool, expanded to include Scope 2 and 3 emissions – we’re delighted at the positive feedback and the contribution from members.
For 2019/20, the total emissions by members who reported again this year have reduced by 15%. Overall, we have now carried out 36,436 tonnes CO2 savings through energy efficiency measures since we began capturing data in 2006. In addition to this, 35% of reported members are now on renewable electricity tariffs – we’ll be looking to improve on this in the next year – while 70% of members recorded significant reductions from their baseline which is an impressive amount considering that many increased their numbers of staff and economic activity over that period. ISEP members represent over 15% of the borough’s commercial carbon emissions.
